Item Description
4", no maker, made in advance of the New York Giants cross-country move to San Francisco following the 1957 baseball season. During their final season in New York, the Giants finished in last place in the National League with a record of 69-85 under manager Bill Rigney. That ball club was led by future National Baseball Hall of Famers Willie Mays and Red Schoendienst. Cardboard back has both a stain area and an upper area with a thin layer of clear and hard glue. In addition, the loop on the right of the brass pin is pushed into its cut-out opening. The front edge and inward about .75" all around has small raised surface bumps which are felt but little seen. Cello has normal light general wear expected on most buttons of this large size. Extreme edge at 3 o'clock has short hairline of gray color. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book.
