Item Description
Scarce, 1.5" with curl naming Spiegel Nov. Co. Inc. N.Y.C. and a union bug back stamp. Button produced to oppose the upcoming move to Los Angeles, CA. On April 22, 1957 demonstrators massed a rally in front of Borough Hall to protest the Dodgers leaving Brooklyn. Groups of sandlot players in uniform, and fans carried signs in protest. These "Keep the Dodgers in Brooklyn" buttons were distributed by the Keep the Dodgers in Brooklyn Committee, who started a petition drive for 1,000,000 signatures. The "Keep the Dodgers in Brooklyn" pins were also handed out to fans entering Ebbets Field on opening day, April 19, 1957. Collet has 1/16" tiny dent line. Union bug stamp on underside makes a very slight raised area on the front surface which overall is a slight bit concave. Small light scratches seen just in reflected light. Glossy and VF.
