Item Description
Only example known to Hake's, 1-3/8" litho contains facsimile autograph with indistinct tiny black marking and three blurry tiny numerals on the curl. Jackie Robinson made his Major League debut on April 15, 1947 for Branch Rickey's Brooklyn Dodgers, becoming the first African American ballplayer in the modern Major Leagues. Robinson would go on to win the National League Rookie of the Year award in 1947 and would follow that up with an NL MVP award two years later, in 1949. Robinson would finish his career with a .311 batting average along with 137 home runs, 734 RBI's, 947 runs scored and 197 stolen bases. Robinson was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. Some slight loss of the blue color on the reverse curl with just a little of the same on the front top edge. Extreme edge also has very tiny paint dots off upper edge. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
