Item Description
Scarce 1.75", no maker, with pin holding double rwb ribbons joined to 1-7/8" dia. tin ball which in turn holds a red and a white ribbon. The 1946 Boston Red Sox steamrolled their way through the American League's regular season, finishing with a record of 104-50 under National Baseball Hall of Fame player/manager Joe Cronin. The offense would be led by two future Cooperstown selectees, Ted Williams (OF) and Bobby Doerr (2B). The BoSox would eventualy fall to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games in the 1946 World Series. Trace of paint wear on the ball. The button is VF. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
