Item Description
1.75", no maker with spring pin holding ribbon, chain, wood bat and celluloid ball. After beginning his professional baseball career in the Negro Leagues with Chatanooga and Birmingham during the late 1940s, Willie Mays joined the New York Giants ball club in 1951 and, thus, began one of the great Major League Baseball careers of all-time. "The Say Hey Kid" would spend the next 21 seasons with the Giants, including their move out west to San Francisco in 1958. Willie would finish up his playing career with two final seasons with the New York Mets in 1972-73. Mays' final career stats line could not have been more impressive, .302 BA, 660 HR, 1,903 RBI's, 2,062 R, 3,283 H and 338 SB's. Widely regarded as the best all-around ballplayer of all-time, Willie was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 1979. Speck of dirt under the cello just above his left ear with all else Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
