Item Description
Scarce 2-1/8" with brass luster metal back. Pee Wee Reese began his Major League Baseball career in 1940 with the Brooklyn Dodgers and would spend his entire 16 year career with the franchise. Reese was known for his consistent defense and was a 10 time National League all-star and finished in the top 10 in National League MVP voting on eight different occasions. Reese would finish with a career batting average of .269 along with 126 homers and 885 RBI's and was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1984. On back rim at 5'o'clock, the paper and cello covering were too short to wrap under the collet but only along a short .25" narrow line. This is not at all detectable from the front. There are around 40 tiny air dots, most over his image that will catch reflected light. However, viewed directly none are seen. The right side about .25" in from the edge has small and light trace of gray color at 3 and 5 o'clock. Some extremely light all over scratching is present but again just in reflected light. Nice gloss and button actually displays very cleanly. VF. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
