Item Description
.75" lapel stud with reverse naming maker Pettibone of Cincinnati. This much heralded heavyweight championship fight was filmed and ran in excess of ninety minutes effectively making it the world's first feature film. Its later distribution across the country, including in many states where boxing was illegal and outlawed, set the ground rules for the pay per view concept. Bob Fitzsimmons, shown here on the right, took the title from James J. Corbett. A tin rim holds paper under celluloid with a tiny 1/32" age dot between Fitzsimmon's feet. VF. Rare and acquired after Dr. Muchinsky published his book Boxing Pinback Buttons in 2008. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
