Item Description
Set of 10 hand-painted, three-dimensional high density foam wall plaques depicting McDonaldland characters, including Ronald McDonald (w/anthropomorphic hamburgers), Hamburglar (who opens his cape to reveal stolen anthropomorphic cheeseburgers), Grimace (who hold milkshakes), Mayor McCheese, Officer Big Mac, three different Fry Kids (yellow, orange and purple), Captain Crook (beside two cartons of french fries) and The Professor (who steps on one of three anthropomorphic cheeseburgers at his feet). Plaques ranging in size from 7" to 36" tall. All but Ronald, Hamburglar, Grimace and Captain Crook have either penciled or inked 1984 date on backs. Professor has 1980 date on back and is depicted w/long beard as he appeared in the late 1970s (he would get a shave but keep the mustache and don a helmet before being retired in 1985). Grimace and Captain Crook have metal loops on back for hanging display. Made by Setmakers Inc., late 1970s/early 1980s. These displays were used to decorate McDonald's then newly designed Ronald's Room and Ronald's Playrooms at McDonald's restaurants. Ronald McDonald has repairs to breaks at right arm at shoulder, neck and below knees. Good/VG. Purple Fry Kid has repair to break below knees. VG/Fine. Orange Fry Kid has repairs to breaks at left leg below knee and right leg at ankle. VG. Hamburglar has large repair to bottom left corner. VG. The Professor has repair to foliage tips at right. VG/Fine. Yellow Fry Kid, Mayor McCheese, Officer Big Mac, Grimace and Captain Crook show just some lt. scattered wear (a bit more on Officer Big Mac) but are Exc. overall. Extremely rare as designed solely for restaurant use.
