Item Description
8.5x11" offset litho promoting a concert "Friday, Aug. 14, 1970" at "Riverside Plaza Hotel" in New York City. Headline text reads "Black Is" w/"Featuring Freddie Hubbarrd (sic) Quintet, Thelonious Monk" and "McCoy Tyner Quintet" below. Also of note in small text among the six additional artists are "The Last Poets" a spoken word group considered among the earliest influences to the burgeoning hip-hop movement. Loss at top center w/1" vertical tear. Heavy handling including creases and horizontal fold, age toning at edges, scattered foxing and edge tears. Good. A fascinating cross between jazz, hip-hop and the civil rights movement.
