Item Description
2.25" dia. "Great Lakes Sales Co." on rim curl. Striking design in red on white bkg. w/pirate portrait at center. The 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates ball club finished in first place in the National League with a record of 95-59 under manager Danny Murtaugh. The Bucs were led offensively and defensively by a pair of future National Baseball Hall of Famers, the great Roberto Clemente and the slick fielding second baseman Bill Mazeroski. Although they were heavy underdogs to the American League champions the New York Yankees, Pittsburgh persevered and won the fall classic four games to three. NM. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
