Item Description
DeWitt shows five 1864 Lincoln photos used on ferrotypes or cardboard badges. This image with sharp details in not among those five. The only exact image we could find was offered from the Joe Brown Collection by Heritage in Nov. 2004. However, that format had a stickpin reverse and was significantly smaller with a 20x26mm frame. This ornate embossed brass shell larger frame is 26x32 mm (1 x 1.25"). The upper folded edge of the  brass frame  holds a very fine link chain which goes through a brass loop at the base of the embossed brass eagle hanger with bar pin reverse. The badge is 2.5" tall with full luster on the brass, a super clean cardboard photo and overall NM. Rare.
