Item Description
Rare 1.25" tall embossed brass with hinged vertical pin on reverse. Baseball with "1907 Rooters Club" text present, topped with a brass ballplayer in full uniform leaning on his bat. No specific team is indicated but it is widely believed that this piece is attributable to the Boston Americans. The Boston team's Royal Rooters fan base was surely the most dedicated of the late 19th and early 20th century Major League baseball clubs. The 1907 Boston Americans team finished in seventh place in the American League with a final record of 59-90 under manager Deacon McGuire. Very nicely detailed and with near full luster. Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
