Item Description
1.25" button with American Badge Co. Chicago back paper. Spring pin holds red ribbon extending 2.5" and tied to handle of large wood bat 9.5" long with text in an oval ink stamp "World's Champions" and below this "Made In U.S.A."  The 1932 Chicago Cubs won the National League pennant with a record of 90-64 under future National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Rogers Hornsby. The offense was led by Hornsby along with a trio of HOF'ers: Gabby Hartnett, Kiki Cuyler and Billy Herman. The pitching staff was highlighted by the efforts of Hall of Fame starter, Burleigh Grimes. Chicago would go on to lose the 1932 World Series to the powerful New York Yankees in four straight. Slight darkening to ribbon. Cello has pinpoint dirt speck on edge at 3 o'clock otherwise button and bat are Exc. First example Hake's has seen w/bat intact. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
