The 1926 St. Louis Cardinals ball club won the National League pennant with a final record of 89-65 under Hall of Fame manager/second baseman, Rogers Hornsby. In addition to Hornsby, the offense was led by future National Baseball Hall of Fame selectees: Chick Hafey, Jim Bottomley and Billy Southworth. The mound corps was led by a pair of HOF starters, Jesse Hasines and Grover Cleveland Alexander. The Cardinals would go on to top the New York Yankees, 4 games to 3, to take the 1926 World Series.
