Item Description
3.5" no maker with union bug stamp on brass luster back with bar pin. Variety w/"1953" date above team photo (see next lot for variety). The 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers won the National League pennant with a fantastic record of 105-49 under manager Chuck Dressen. The offense was led by the future Hall of Fame quartet of Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Pee Wee Reese and Duke Snider, along with future managing great Dick Williams and Carl Erskine on the mound. Brooklyn would go on to lose the 1953 World Series to the powerful New York Yankees ball club in six games. Almost no wear in reflected light but a few widely scattered and very faint gray age dots on extreme outer edge.  Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
