Item Description
3.5" no maker.  One of four known versions in this design, see previous item (with "Sohio" and "Kenny King" to follow in future auctions). This one reads "Carling's Brings You The Indians/WXEL TV Channel 3." The 1954 Cleveland Indians won the American League pennant with one of the greatest won-loss records in baseball history, 111-43, under future National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Al Lopez. Cleveland was led on offense by HOF outfielder, Larry Doby while the mound corps included a quartet of Hall of Fame starters: Bob Feller, Hal Newhouser, Early Wynn and Bob Lemon. The Indians would go on to be swept by the New York Giants during the 1954 World Series. Edge at 8 o'clock has .25" hairline of white paper trapped under the cello as made. Small stain at top above last four letters of Carling's. Still glossy, Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
