Item Description
From same rare and desirable set as previous six lots. 1.25" w/W&H back paper. Tommy Leach was a starting outfielder for the 1909 Pittsburgh Pirates ball club, finishing the season with a .261 batting average to go along with 6 homers and 43 RBI's. Leach would go on to fashion an impressive career finishing with a batting average of .269 along with 1,355 runs scored and 361 stolen bases. Reverse near bottom is dented with two short indent lines across the collet. On the front, the right side from 2-5 o'clock is pushed in and on bottom there is a small raised bump over the letters "URG" of Pittsburgh. There are scattered scratches in reflected light with one about .25" showing just above his left ear. Still with full gloss. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
