Item Description
Only example known to Hake's and from the same uncatalogued series as previous two lots. 1.25", w/Phila. Badge Co. back paper. Paul Waner, nicknamed "Big Poison" in comparison to his little brother, Lloyd, known as "Little Poison", was a strong hitting outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates from the mid-1920's and throughout the 1930s. Paul would finish his career with a superb career batting average of .333 along with 113 homers, 1,309 RBI's and 1,627 runs scored. Waner would be elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1952. Some light tan spots on his face and uniform which was in the development of the photo paper. Some extremely tiny raised cello bumps. Slight, typical surface wear seen only in reflected light. Glossy and Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
