Item Description
1.75" no maker with spring pin holding 3.5" ribbon. Shown in Brooklyn uniform. Jake Pitler played only one Major League baseball season in 1917 as a second baseman for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Subsequently, Pitler would become a coach in the Brooklyn Dodgers organization throughout the 1940's, ultimately joining the Major League club in 1947 as their first base coach, famous for stealing signs from the other team. Pitler would remain in Brooklyn until the team's move to Los Angeles in 1957. Single day issue of this scarce button took place on Sept. 18, 1956. Lt. wear to ribbon. Collet has one small dent.
