Item Description
Only example known to Hake's, 6-1/8" tall. Has brass frame hanger holding "Committee" on cardboard insert suspending short white ribbon w/celluloid baseball charm plus longer red ribbon w/text in gold. Issued for April 10, 1961 dinner to commemorate the Yankees return to New York's Hotel Astor just prior to opening the 1961 baseball season and following their 1960 American League championship, ultimately resulting in one of the toughest World Series losses of all-time to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 1961 season would go on to be one of the historic years in New York Yankees annals as both Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris would attempt to break Babe Ruth's all-time single season home run record. To left of the ball is a 1.25" tall stain mark with additional small stain traces scattered below to the bottom of the fabric. Fine. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
