Item Description
1" w/both unusual technique of color accented black and white photo plus triple marked by its maker Bastian Bros. of Rochester, NY. Button has Bastian back paper (aged), a collet covered in repeating Rochester union bugs and their name and city plus another union bug appears on the curl. Dalhgren is pictured as if at first base ready to receive a throw. Babe played a total of 12 Major League seasons and was best known for replacing Lou Gehrig with the New York Yankees in 1939 when the Iron Horse could no longer continue playing due to illness. He played for the Yankess 1937-40. The tan tone on lower edge is not stain but rather meant to depict the color of the playing field. Glossy, Exc.  Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example. See next lot, Wyatt from same set.
