Item Description
See previous lot from the same series for background details. 1.25" button w/ribbon holding glossy stiff cardboard pennant. The 1939-40 Cincinnati Reds were winners of the National League pennant in back-to-back seasons with records of 97-57 in 1939 and 100-53 in 1940 under National Baseball Hall of Fame manager Bill McKechnie. Ival Goodman played on the team 1935-42. He was a two-time All-Star, World Series Champion in 1940 and is a member of the Reds Hall Of Fame. Surface gloss has tiny age lines that catch reflected light. Pennant tip is squared off as are the other two we've seen. Pennant is VF, button is Exc. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
