Item Description
3.5x8-1/8" base has 8.25" long by 7" tall painted cast metal camel that has overall height of 7.75". Nice figural piece serves as an advertising countertop lighter for Red Kamel Turkish Cigarettes, an RJ Reynolds brand sold in early 1900s, later becoming the famous Camels brand. This c. 1910 piece has raised text on both sides of base reading "Sell Without Premiums Of Coupons" and sides of camel bear company name. Small placard underneath camel notes "10 For 10¢." All original paint w/gold accents. Removable brass lighter wand has become lodged inside lighter opening. Scattered paint wear to raised areas and all over aging. Fine/VF. Nicely designed countertop display.
