Item Description
6.5" tall plated cast iron countertop cigar cutter promoting General Arthur Cigars, utilizing celluloid-covered portraits of US President Chester A. Arthur on both sides. Underside has raised Erie Specialty Co. makers name, 1880s. Decorative scrolled base and post, w/incised "Kerbs, Wertheim & Schifffer, New York" name on base. Twin levers w/knobs are pushed down to trim cigars in one of two different-sized openings. The small tin trap on underside of base that was to be removed to empty cuttings is missing. Most of plating is gone from cutting areas and levers, base shows moderate wear to plating w/some lt. oxidation. Fine overall.
