Item Description
7/8" w/union bug on curl at 6 o'clock. Former 1928 Democratic nominee and one time supporter, Al Smith soured on FDR's government expanding New Deal policies stating in a speech that unless FDR halted deficit spending he would "Take A Walk" in the 1936 election. FDR supporters turned the quote around using it on this rare slogan button to show their support. Minor surface wear only in reflected light. Exc. Smith took his walk by endorsing Landon but given the Kansas Governors landslide 523-8 electoral college defeat, it must have been a lonely stroll. Ron Koot Collection.
