Item Description
5x5x2.75" tall box contains watch w/7/8x1.25" chromed metal case and original gray leather band. U.S. Time, c. 1951. Box is complete w/die-cut insert containing domed plastic space compass that has diagram w/text "Terra". Underside has label space statistics and additional "Great Britain" label. This is the rarely seen UK version of the compass, featuring a plastic base w/raised "Timex Watches" on rim underside compared to the cardboard base seen on the US version. Some scattered lt. aging but o/w VF/Exc. Box lid features photo portrait of Ed Kemmer as Buzz Corey [sic]. Box has some corner tip wear and is Fine/VF overall. Watch dial has Space Patrol logo. Watch winds and ticks, but needs a simple cleaning to keep time. Much bright luster remains. Exc. Scarce as boxed.
