Item Description
25-3/8x40-7/8" one sheet poster for the original release of the 1950 Republic 15 chapter film serial which starred Kirk Alyn in the role of Superman (and Clark Kent), Noel Neill as Lois Lane and Lyle Talbot as Lex Luthor/The Atom Man. Poster is for Chapter 13, Atom Man's Flying Saucer, and features an explosion. Lower right has been boldly signed in black felt tip pen by Superman actor Kirk Alyn (1910-1999), who adds "Best Always" inscription and "Superman" name. Poster has been trimmed and mounted to stiff board. Poster was originally folded and shows heavy wear along center vertical fold, w/large splits and areas of missing paper. Poster exhibits obvious aging and margins show scattered tape/moisture staining at top. Scattered margin wear w/some tape staining, chips, small tears and corner tip wear. Just Good overall, but Alyn's inscription/signature remains distinct and displays VF. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA. Dan Makara Collection.
