Item Description
16.25x22.5" thin artboard w/India ink original art for May 14, 1978 Sunday page by Rick Fletcher from his first year on the Dick Tracy comic strip. Art features 10 panels (in addition to title stat paste-over), w/Mindy Ermine Rogues Gallery panel and story panels showing Tracy and Lizz informing Dr. Carver that his former patient Haf-And-Haf is on the loose. The pair deduce that Haf-And-Haf was in the apartment based on the Carvers' odd behavior. Returning, Tracy is punched and knocked down by fleeing Haf-And-Haf. Ninth panel has Chicago Tribune copyright strip. Upper left/lower right corners have inked dates. Bottom margin has been signed by artist Fletcher and inker Max Collins. Title stat has some glue staining and top margin has numerous pin/staple holes w/two staples at top center. Scattered pin holes along left/right and bottom margins. Lower right corner has some faint moisture staining, which slightly affects art. Fine overall and could be matted for nice display.
