Item Description
Sanforized 45" tall youth size 10 metallic silver-coated cotton custom spacesuit w/folded collar, long sleeves, two thigh flap pockets and zipper front closure. Suit has embroidered "Lost in Space TV 10" w/CBS eye logo and "Space Commander" w/missile patches on chest and embroidered pilot wings patch on left sleeve. This costume was the grand prize in a contest run by a Pennsylvania TV station in 1965 to promote the Lost in Space TV show during its first season on the air. Suit exhibits some lt. aging and wear w/one button detached from right pocket (but included), some loose threads and rubbing to metallic coating. Chest area has some staining between patches. Still Fine/VF overall. One-of-a-kind as this was the contest's grand prize. Extremely rare and one of the most interesting Lost In Space items we have ever seen or offered.
