Item Description
9-1/8x12" sheet music for I Can't Get to First Base With You, published by the Fred Fisher Music Co. ©1935. The legendary Babe Ruth had a number of songs dedicated to him, which caused Lou Gehrig's wife, Eleanor to team w/Fred Fisher to write this song, dedicated to her husband. Front features classic image of Yankee legend and National Baseball HOF member Gehrig (1903-1941) in New York Yankees uniform, smoking a cigarette w/facsimile signature on his arm. Lower right has smaller inset photo portrait of "Mrs. Lou Gehrig." Four-page folder has some scattered handling wear w/corner tip wear and some lt. margin aging. .25 tear to spine, just below center. Back page has .75" tear at bottom. Fine overall. Scarce.
