Item Description
22.5" wide (26" wide at base) by 31.75" tall stadium seat from Yankee Stadium. These seats were removed in 1972 during renovations at the stadium. The seats were made of wooden planks and heavy cast metal frames. When folding seats are placed in the down position, seats measure 16" deep. Seat legs are attached to wooden planks at the bottom, seats were blue when removed w/flaking paint revealing original green color underneath, and some scattered exposed wood. Back of seat has stenciled "13" number and has attached brass plate reading "Yankee Stadium - 'The House Ruth Built' - 50th Anniversary 1923-1973 - Bronx, N.Y." Plate shows scattered wear w/1" spot of wear at bottom center. Seat shows scattered paint wear, more prevalent to seat area w/cast metal frame showing some exposed metal w/some scattered oxidation. Front most slat on seat portion has carved "S.A." initials that have been painted over. This slat is loose at right side. VG/Fine and would look great in any sports room. This Yankee artifact saw decades of use, witnessing many of World Series games as well as the careers of Yankee greats like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris and many others.
