Item Description
11.5x17.5" artboard features pen and ink original art by Val Mayerik, inked by Jack Abel for Man-Thing Vol. 1 #3, published by Marvel March 1974. Art is for page 3 and features seven panels, showing workers attacking Man-Thing w/sledgehammers, axes and tire irons, to no effect. Of note, bottom three panels comprise single scene, showing Man-Thing's arm being chopped by two workers. Man-Thing is seen in every panel. Top margin has stamped Man-Thing title and inked issue/page numbers w/information repeated in blue pencil. Margins have scattered blue pencil editorial notations and some spots of marker. Back has Marvel copyright stamp. Margins of artboard shows moderate dust soiling w/some scattered moisture staining along bottom margin. Artboard shows scattered handling/corner tip wear and is Fine overall. Art remains clean for the most part and would displays VF if framed.
