Item Description
English 4.25x6" cardstock letter card envelope containing "Six Views In Black And White Of Romney, Hythe And Dymchurch Railway" features large and bold blue ink signature of Walt Disney on backside, signature measuring 4.25" wide. Interior contains the aforementioned 5.75x22.5" folded strip of railway photographs attached to interior of envelope. This in turn has blue ink handwritten letter to recipient, reading in part "This Afternoon We Were Talking To Walt Disney Down At Dungerness [sic]. That's His Autograph On The Back Of The Card. He Was Driving One Of These Miniature Trains." Envelope has been hand-addressed and bears British postal mark and appears to have 1952 date, which coincides w/King George VI stamp (but would further date this to the early part of 1952 as George died in Feb.). Scattered wear from mailing w/creases to envelope flap. Top center has .25" tear and envelope is evenly aged. Item itself is Fine overall while signature remains distinct and displays Exc. A unique signed item that ties in nicely w/Disney's love of trains (and especially miniature ones like the one he had installed on his home's property during this same time period). Comes with Hake's COA and COA from Phil Sears, recognized as the premier Walt Disney autograph specialist.
