Item Description
1.25" w/spring pin. Moderate surface wear in reflected light most notably a less than .25" diagonal scratch just above center. Exc. Bold portrait w/excellent tonal range. Roosevelt's safari produced this nickname coined by local guides and passed to the American public upon his return in 1910 as translating to Master Hunter. In reality the Swahili phrase translates roughly to Portly Master. Given the many trophies TR collected during his adventures in 'the motherland' perhaps both translations are fitting. Bob Westerman Collection.
