Item Description
13/16" has back paper with very small W&H maker text design used c. 1903-1912 plus larger text "John R. Bellis/Patent Designer" New York City. "Bolsheviki" was the name given to the majority faction at the Second Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Workers' Party in 1903. This group sided with Lenin in the split that followed the Congress and subsequently became the Russian Communist Party. This has to be the first American made button in opposition to what became the Russian Communist Party. Tiny indentation at outer edge 3 o'clock. Otherwise super clean. NM. One seen, this is the button photographed for the book Button Power (page 58) by Carter/Hake. Comes w/Hake's COA.
