Item Description
7/8" w/Green Duck Co. on reverse. William Z. Foster and C. E. Ruthenberg were arrested in a 1922 federal raid of the Communist Party convention in Bridgman, MI. Issued by the Labor Defense Council in 1923 to support legal costs associated w/their trials. Foster, a labor union leader, trial resulted in a hung jury while Ruthenberg, leader of the Communist Party, was convicted on criminal syndicalism. Only minor paint wear from light use. NM. A high grade example of this rarely offered labor and third party pin-back.
