Item Description
Errol McCarthy is an artist/illustrator noted for his work on Peterson Publishing titles Hot Rod Cartoons, CARtoons and Cycletoons as well as for his later work on popular toylines like Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe. Offered here are 12x17" Craftint artboard and pair of 14x19.75"artboards w/applied sheets of vellum bearing pen and ink original art (w/screentone accents) and airbrushing for complete three-page story from 1970s Peterson Publishing title (either Hot Rod Cartoons or CARtoons). Story shows several futuristic car designs, both good and bad w/hand-lettered captions/commentary. First artboard has self-portrait of McCarthy w/word balloon "Or... Gas - Who Needs It?" subtitle and his signature. Vellum has some scattered margin staining and wear, but art o/w remains clean and Exc. Errol McCarthy Collection.
