Item Description
Errol McCarthy is an artist/illustrator noted for his work on Peterson Publishing titles Hot Rod Cartoons, CARtoons and Cycletoons as well as for his later work on popular toylines like Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe. Offered here are three approx. 14x16.25" artboards w/applied sheets of vellum bearing pen and ink original art (w/screentone accents) and airbrushing for complete three-page story from 1970s Peterson Publishing title (either Hot Rod Cartoons or CARtoons). Story deals w/hot rodders Rod and Giz racing to build a solar-powered dragster, w/comical results. McCarthy has signed at lower right of first artboard (which has attached stiff paper overlay). Vellum has some scattered staining at left/right margins as attached to artboards and screentone accents have yellowed w/age. Artboards have some corner tip wear but art o/w remains clean and Exc.
