Item Description
1.25". W&H back paper. From a desirable set of 16. Both the Morton's Pennant Winners Bread buttons along with the equally attractive Morton's Buster Brown Bread series depict the A.L. pennant winning Detroit Tigers of 1907-09. Year of production for both of these scarce sets is approximate as both could have been issued in late 1909 or early 1910. Both series are highlighted by the inclusion of 3 National Baseball Hall of Famer's: Ty Cobb, Sam Crawford & Hugh Jennings.
Part-time catcher, Jimmy Archer, is certainly a surprising inclusion in this series as he only played a total of 18 games for Detroit in 1907.Pinpoint nick on hat brim above his left eye and small, very faint stain spot at this area. Surface scratches mostly only visible upon magnification. Button remains clean and glossy. Fine.
