Item Description
1.75". Tiny bump in field at two o'clock from horizontal bar pin construction. Otherwise only light wear. Exc. The activist leader of the White Panthers, well known Yippie and manager of Detroit proto-punk band MC5 was sentenced in July 1969 to ten years for possessing two joints. This button was likely issued for the John Sinclair Freedom Rally held at Crisler Arena, Ann Arbor, Michigan on Dec. 10, 1971. Over 15,000 attended the event headlined by John Lennon & Yoko Ono. Three days later Michigan Supreme Court ordered him released and later overturned his conviction.
