Item Description
3-3/8"x5-3/8" vintage silver gelatin postcard depicting 12 ballplayers in full uniform along with two gentlemen dressed in formal attire and a batboy seated in front with period baseball equipment in the foreground and posed in front of stadium seating. Caption a bottom of photo reads "July 3-4, '10 - Tomahawk, Wis. B.B. Team". We have been unable to find any info indicating that this team/league was on a professional level so we are assuming that they were a semi-pro, town ball club that would take on all comers in the local WI area. Image quality of the photograph is superb. 1" creases visible in the upper right hand corner, divided postcard back exhibits staining in the lower left-hand corner along with foxing around the edges. AZO stamp box dates the postcard to 1904-18, which is consistent with the subject matter pictured. Fine. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
