Item Description
1" w/"San Francisco 3" union bug on curl. Moderate wear only in reflected light. Exc. Button references the infamous events of "July 5, 1934" during the International Longshoremen's Association West Coast Waterfront Strike when two workers, Nick Bordoise and Howard Sperry, were shot to death. The events led to a San Francisco general strike that halted all work in the major port city for four days. In the aftermath of the 83 day strike and international attention almost all west coast ports became unionized a major victory for labor unions.
