Item Description
3.5"x5.5" vintage matte postcard, likely developed by noted photographers, Burke & Brace based on the back player identification and depicting Moe Berg, who was best known for his role as an active spy for the United States Govt. during World War II. However, Moe was also an accomplished catcher, fashioning a 15 year MLB career with several American League teams, including the Chicago White Sox, Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators and Boston Red Sox. Berg's playing career spanned 1923-39, and concluded with the Boston Red Sox team from 1935-39, during which time this image was taken. Kodak stamp box on back dates this postcard to 1950s or later. There are no significant condition issues to note. Exc. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake's COA.
