Item Description
Beautifully painted and glazed 7" tall ceramic figurine w/mark on underside for this Italian company as well as "W 112" designation and "Walt Disney" paper label. Zaccagnini signed a contract w/Disney in 1947 that lasted about ten years. This particular piece is c. 1953 from the time of Disney's Peter Pan animated feature film's original release. Tiger Lily's father, referred to in the film as Indian Chief, strikes serious pose w/arms crossed. Details include fringed gloves and a full length feathered war bonnet headdress, complete w/pair of horns w/dangling feathers. Professional touch-ups to small chip on tip of one horn and small chips/flakes on backs/bottom of headdress feathers. These do not detract substantially from overall Exc. appearance. All pieces from the Zaccagnini Peter Pan series are extremely rare, this the first we've offered of this figurine in our 54 years. This auction also includes two additional pieces from this series, among the best of Zaccagnini's - Mr. Smee, #1602 and Turk the Pirate, #1600.
