Item Description
Beautifully painted and glazed 7.25" ceramic figurine w/mark on underside for this Italian company as well as "W 107" designation. Zaccagnini signed a contract w/Disney in 1947 which lasted about ten years. This particular piece is c. 1951, from the time of Disney's Alice In Wonderland animated feature film's original release. Wonderful depiction of The Walrus character is nicely detailed w/large mustache, top hat and "patched" jacket and vest. He holds cane in one hand, cigar in the other. Professional touch-ups to rough spots/paint flakes on front/back edges of top hat and on tip of right shoe. These do not detract substantially from overall Exc. appearance. Figurines from the Alice In Wonderland series are extremely rare and among the best of all Zaccagnini series. This is the first Zaccagnini of any Alice character we've offered in our 54 years.
