2". No maker. Spring pins holding ribbon, plastic bat and ball on a chain. Shows Mays in New York Giants cap (see next lot for San Francisco variety). After beginning his professional baseball career in the Negro Leagues with Chattanooga and Birmingham during the late 1940s, Willie Mays joined the New York Giants ball club in 1951 and, thus, began one of the great Major League Baseball careers of all-time. "The Say Hey Kid" would spend the next 21 seasons with the Giants. Widely regarded as the best all-around ballplayer of all-time, Willie was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 1979. Ribbon is aged, attachments show wear and bat has a slight warp. These components Fine. Crazing of the paper under the cello but only seen in reflected light or under magnification. Not detected when viewed under normal circumstances and appearance for display is still glossy, Exc. Many different Mays PM10's were produced during his career but this is among the rarest.
