Item Description
14x21.25" artboard features pen and ink original art for page 23 of Strange Adventures #144, published by DC Comics Sept. 1962. Art is by Carmine Infantino (1925-2013), a comics artist and editor known for his work at DC Comics, where he co-created the Silver Age version of The Flash, Elongated Man and Deadman and helped redefine comic books during the 1950s and 1960s. Art was inked by Joe Giella and features six main panels. Art is from The Imaginary Dooms storyline and features young boy meeting alien beings from Kor-Am. Of note, the boy carries a copy of the Strange Adventures comic book in his hand, showcasing a robot picking out a new head in third panel. This had a comic title logo paste-over, which has since been lost, leaving glue staining as once attached . Top margin has DC/Strange Adventures header strip paste-over w/red ink issue/page numbers and month of publication. Editorial notations in margins w/penciled notation at bottom margin. Pin holes at top/bottom corners and top center w/wear to header strip. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp. Lower corners have slight clips. Aside from mentioned glue staining, art remains clean and VF.
