Item Description
3.5". No maker. Text done in stencil style and includes "Our Champs." Features small but sharp portrait photos of 21 team members in Yankees uniforms. These were taken from studio head shots and some facsimile signatures, which were part of those photos, can be seen here. Many of the player images utilized here are also identical to the team issued 6x9" photo pack of 25 New York Yankees ballplayers produced and distributed at Yankees Stadium during the 1947 season. Among the players are National Baseball Hall Of Fame members: Joe Dimaggio, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto as well as manager Bucky Harris. The 1947 New York Yankees won the American League pennant with a record of 97-57. New York then bested the Brooklyn Dodgers in seven games to take the World Series. Metal back has some age and rim indents as made. Front has trace of surface wear w/some impression lines and indentations but only seen upon magnification. Remains totally bright and clean w/full high gloss. VF. A rare and desirable Yankees button. See Dodgers mate, next lot. Paul Muchinsky Collection Book Example.
