Item Description
13.25x19-1/8" artboard features pen and ink original art for page 31 of More Seymour #1, published by Archie Enterprises, Inc. Art is by Dan DeCarlo (1919-2001), a cartoonist best known for having developed the look of Archie Comics in the late 1950s and early 1960s, modernizing the characters to their contemporary appearance and establishing the publisher's house style up until his death. As well, he is the generally recognized co-creator of the characters Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Josie and the Pussycats and Cheryl Blossom. Art has been inked by Rudy Lapick (1926-2004) and features five panels from final page in issue/story, w/Seymour fleeing angry crowd at beach and returning home to "help" his father. Artboard has inked title, month of publication and issue/page numbers at top margin and DeCarlo has boldly signed in black ink at lower right margin. Back has Archie copyright inkstamp. Last panel has some minor staining to Seymour's pants, but o/w art is VF/Exc.
