Item Description
9.25x12.25" stiff paper premium book issued by Cocomalt in 1933. Front cover has crowded art scene including Buck Rogers and Wilma Deering w/numerous bkg. characters along w/rocketships and flying man w/jetpack. Back cover has "Diagrams Of 25th Century Inventions" including "Rocket Ship Plane, Flying Space Suit Equipment, Flying Submarine." Inside front cover tells "The Story Of Buck Rogers" while inside of back cover has ad for Cocomalt and includes four panels at bottom showing "How Scenes Will Look When Assembled." Book has six stiff paper sheets w/four full page scenes including - Dr. Huer's Laboratory, The Court of the Queen Of Venus, The Attack Upon Niagara, The Metal Cities of Venus. Remainder of book has 20 different pieces designed to be cut out. Book is complete and unused. Back cover has 1" strip of aging along top margin but o/w book is a high grade, Exc. example w/bright, clean and NM contents. Extremely rare as uncut. One of just a few known copies as such and among the nicest of the few unused examples we've offered. Superb design and graphics throughout. Comes w/even rarer 16-5/8x19-3/8" die-cut cardboard Radio Stage by R. B. Davis Co. Left/right margins feature futuristic cityscape w/rocketships. Stage is folded as issued and appears to have never been assembled, showing some corner tip wear w/handling creases. VF. Rare and first we've offered in our 54 years. Included illustrated 5x7" assembly instructions sheet for stage is Exc. 7-1/8x10" printed letter on "Buck Rogers" letterhead that reads in part "It Is A Real Pleasure To Send You My Cut-Out Book And Radio Stage." Letter goes on to mention Cocomalt and refers to stage as "'Theatre Of The Air'' for use while listening to the Buck Rogers radio show. Facsimile Buck Rogers signature at bottom. Scattered aging w/two creases at lower right corner. Fine. These papers, along w/the Radio Stage and book are the only complete example we've offered in our 54 years.
